Viva San Antonio

My husband and I visited San Antonio recently, thanks to a government holiday which allowed for an extra long weekend. Saturday morning we hopped on a plane, cheap tickets via Southwest Airlines and we arrived at our destination on the riverwalk just a couple of hours later. Ive been there before, twice infact. Once with Ms. Marvelous and once alone for a business trip. I saw plenty, but still didnt see much. This time we visted the Alamo, the wax museum, haunted house, Guiness book of world records museum, and Ripleys believe it or not. I know those are not the highlight of visiting San Antonio, but we really just needed a weekend. A weekend to do whatever we wanted. A weekend to chill and just have fun. So thats just what we did.
If you are planning a trip to San Antonio, know that restaurants are about the only happening thing going on Sunday evenings. The riverboats close at 9 p.m. and all of the fun things to do close early. Saturday is the best day to do everything you want and stay out late. Just be sure your hotel is on the yellow trolley line if you are staying a bit of a distance from the action. It runs until 12:30 a.m. for only a buck. The blue trolley line only runs until 9 p.m. so you are pretty much left S.O.L. unless you want to catch a cab. Saturday nights everyone comes downtown for the clubs. There are lots of clubs, and lots of girls wearing nearly nothing!
All in all it was a great experience. For a quick easy and relatively inexpensive trip - its well worth it.
