Cheesy title I know... ah well. Since it has been awhile since I posted a new Intelligence Deck Card, thought I would take a few moments out of my less than busy day to do so. Card 12 of 50... in no particular order...Le Chic Chick knows... How to Jump - Start a Car...
"When jump-starting a vehicle, always wear glasses or sunglasses to protect your eyes. Never lean over the battery. Inspect both batteries before connecting booster cables. Do not jump-start a damaged battery. Be sure vent caps are tight and level. Vehicles should be close enough for the cables to reach but should not be touching. Make sure both ignition switches are turned to the OFF position. Always consult the vehicle owners' manual for instructions that are unique to your car's make/model.
Connect positive (+) booster cable (RED) to positive (+) terminal of DEAD battery.
Connect other end of positive (+) (RED) cable to positive (+) terminal of CHARGED battery.
Connect negative (-) cable (BLACK) to negative (-) terminal of assisting battery.
MAKE FINAL CONNECTION OF NEGATIVE (-) CABLE TO ENGINE OR FRAME OF THE CAR WITH THE DEAD BATTERY. This should be an unpainted area, some distance away from the battery, with easy access such as a bracket or bolt. Don't connect it directly to the battery. Batteries release explosive gases. this last connection could cause a spark. If this happens close to the battery it could possibly explode. Start DEAD vehicle and remove cables in REVERSE order of connections."
