Happy 4th of July

It is party cloudy with a high of 83 degrees and a possibility of scattered thunderstorms. I slept in today, a very nice opening to a day off mid week anyhow. I had my fun last night with my friends as we were out having dinner, drinks and cheesecake at a lovely restaurant. Tonight, things will be less abrasive - all for themselves. I plan to sit out on my driveway and watch the local fireworks here in the neighborhood. There are some who put on a spectacular show and almost just as good as the crowded downtown. Then tomorrow it will be back to work. I have always enjoyed the fourth of july staples of drinks, fried chicken, mashed potatoese and apple pie. Its my first holiday of no cooking too. I did not bake anything this year so I may have to pop back into work with some yummy cupcakes or something tomorrow. It is easy though to remember a government holiday for the holiday pay, but I am observing today as a celebration of freedom, hope, and love. Happy Holiday!
